Virtual Roundtable and Whisky Masterclass on Cloud Optimisation (AEST)

The purpose of the roundtable will be to examine how you can dynamically optimise your cloud infrastructure, so you always have the compute and storage resources that you need whilst minimising your cost. This is made possible by new technologies that use automation to adjust your resource requirements in real time.

This graphic explains cloud optimisation simply. You want to avoid the wasted resources above the line on the left.

cloud optimisation

The objective is to avoid and minimise bill shock.

The roundtable will be led by Steve Douglas, Director ANZ for, which is part of NetApp. We will start with a short demo, where Steve will show you how the NetApp Spot solution actually works and how it can provide you with significant cost savings – in the region of 70% to 80%.

The roundtable will then switch to a Q&A format, you will not only have an opportunity to ask your own questions, but just as importantly, you will be able to listen to and learn from the questions posed by your peers. Good examples of the kind of questions, we might expect to answer include:

>  Can cloud optimisation be applied across multiple public clouds or does it only work in a single cloud provider?
>  How does cloud optimisation prevent you overshoot your cloud budgets and how long does it take to implement?
>  Under what conditions does cloud optimisation work best and how you do you get the quickest payback in terms of time and cost?

Should you attend? It depends on your monthly cloud compute – A$ 25,000 +

One of the key values that cloud resource optimisation companies provide is that their charges are based on the savings that you make. This is an obvious win-win. However, this does mean that in order to make meaningful savings you need to have a reasonably high cloud expenditure. The cut-off figure for cloud compute is currently around A$ 25,000 per month. So, if your cloud compute is greater than A$ 25K per month, then you should definitely attend.

How to Register

If you would like to join the discussion, please note that if you do register, your company name will be shared with other delegates and potential delegates. This is to help us create the most useful discussion possible.

Virtual Whisky Tasting Masterclass

Following the discussion, please join us for a relaxed whisky tasting experience. We will send you a hand-picked selection of fine whisky in advance, so please register asap to ensure you receive your whisky delivery in plenty of time.

If you don’t drink Whisky, then we have alternatives, such as Gin. If you don’t drink at all, then you can attend the roundtable and skip the drinks.
