Round-Table: Threat Hunting (Melbourne)

Why attend?

At this event, you will get the most value from the opportunity to discuss common problems with your peers so there will be no PowerPoint or formal presentations.

The primary focus of this event will be to explore the best techniques to proactively seek out and isolate advanced threats that have successfully evaded your “preventative” security solutions and are present on your network.

The Round Table will be facilitated by Christopher Topp, Director of IT at Luther College and Julian Challingsworth, CEO at Tesserent. The role of the facilitators is to guide the conversation in what ever direction is of most interest to the group.

Some of the key questions that are likely to be discussed include:

>  The business case for a formal threat hunting program
>  What triggers to use to justify the launch of a threat hunt (security alert, risk assessment, penetration test, external intelligence, anomalous activity, etc.)
>  How to combine security tools, analytics, machine learning and threat intelligence with human analysis and instinct to identify latent and real threats, more quickly

To ensure an open, single conversation where you learn from the experience of others in a collaborative environment, there are only 14 places available.

Attending this lunch will help you develop a threat hunting process to seek out adversaries before they can successfully execute an attack.
